The Practical Day

The practical Day

Will I have one-on-one access to trainers for guidance during the course?

Yes. Our course numbers stay capped at low numbers so that your practical experience is good. We have a maximum number of two practitioners per trainer, and maximise your one-on-one time with us by scheduling our patients in a staggered timeline. It will be a rewarding experience for you.

Is lunch included?

Yes. We use a local cafe to supply all our catering. When you enrol, we will ask you about any dietary requirements that you have.

Do I need to remember all the theory on the day of the practical?

No, although it is beneficial in the longterm.

On the day of the practical, we recognise that you won't be able to put all the theory in context, because when you are learning, it is just theory. So our trainers are here to support you and your treatment.

We expect you to:

  • Start discussing treatment with the patient

  • Assess if you think the patient needs treatment and what treatment areas you need to consider

  • Start marking the patient face for muscle movement

  • Start marking the face for treatment sites

  • Undertake the treatment

  • Give post-operative instructions

Our trainers will assist you in the following:

  • Consent of your patient

  • Assessment

  • Diagnosis

  • Discussion with the patient about their treatment

  • Marking your patients face

  • Dosage

  • The treatment itself

Remember that the more you are able to do yourself unassisted, the easier it will be for you to transition your skills into your clinic.

What do I need to bring to the practical session?

We need to ensure that all of our course participants are registered with AHPRA. Please bring your ID, such as a passport or drivers licence to the face-to-face training so that we may verify and record your attendance.

There is no need for loupes, but we do recommend your regular protective glasses. It is important to remember that there is usually little or no intra-oral work being undertaken.

There will be no photography or video recording allowed in the clinical sessions.
